To support Vermont residents pursuing undergraduate degrees in the public safety field. Qualifications: Students must attending (or planning to attend) a college, university or training program within the United States or Canada who are: United States citizens (or eligible non-citizens); must seek an undergraduate degree in a field related to public safety, including, but not limited to, emergency services, law enforcement, or criminal justice; must enroll full time; must demonstrate financial need; must attend an accredited school approved for federal title IV funding (Pell grants, federal Direct loans). Selection criteria: Selection will be based on essay and financial need. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include: federal Student Aid (FAFSA); other required documents: should be submitted on a separate sheet of paper; essays: each essay must be written by the applicant and should include the applicant’s name and last four digits of their social security number at the top; general essay: commitment/goals; financial need; community service; uniqueness (minimum 250 words). Focus: Criminal justice; Emergency and disaster services; Law enforcement.
