To help young adults prepare for and enter training or educational institutions after high school. Qualifications: Applicants must be experienced Department for Children and Families (DCF) custody after the age of 14 (after age 16 if exited to adoption or legal guardianship); be under the age of 26 and have not participated in the program for more than five years (years do not have to be consecutive); demonstrate financial need; attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding (Pell grants, federal Direct loans); students must be attending (or planning to attend) a college, university or training program within the United States or Canada who are: United States citizens. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; scholarships listed on pages 6-46 require the Unified Scholarship Application (USA); each scholarship usually requires at least one additional required document; submit required documents online through MyVSAC account; required documents: Unified Scholarship application, FAFSA, and Vermont grant application.
