To provide financial support to residents of the Upper Valley who pursue education after high school. Qualifications: Applicants must be residence in: Baltimore, Barnard, bethel, Bradford, Bridgewater, cavendish, Chelsea, Corinth, east rye gate, Fairlee, Groton, Hartford, Hartland, Newbury, Norwich, pomfret, Randolph, reading, Royalton, rye gate, Sharon, south rye gate, Springfield, Strafford, Thetford, Topsham, Tunbridge, vershire, Weathersfield, west Fairlee, west Windsor, Windsor, or Woodstock; must seek an undergraduate degree; must demonstrate financial need (preference given to applicants who are among the first generation in their families to attend college); must demonstrate community involvement/service; attend an accredited school approved for federal title iv funding (pell grants, federal direct loans); students attending (or planning to attend) a college, university or training program within the United States or Canada who are: United States citizens (or eligible non-citizens); be Vermont residents. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on financial need, recommendation letter, and essay.
