To encourage and foster training for Vermonters in the technical and skilled trades to ensure the perpetuation of these valuable skills for the benefit of Vermont's economy and communities. Qualifications: Applicants must be reside in franklin county; must seek an accredited certificate or degree in a technical field or skilled trades, including but not limited to, auto technician, electrician, plumber, carpenter, welder, heavy equipment operator, surveyor, nursing, health care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy; must demonstrate financial need; demonstrate education/work ethic; demonstrate potential for academic success; students attending (or planning to attend) a college, university or training program within the United States or Canada who are: United States citizens (or eligible non-citizens); be Vermont residents. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on financial need, recommendation letter, and essay. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include one recommendation letter (non-relative), and essay (general essay). Focus: Education, Vocational-technical; Health care services; Nursing; Occupational therapy; Physical therapy; Speech and language pathology/Audiology.
