To provide full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the field of optical design and engineering. Qualifications: Applicants must be a student member of SPIE; membership must be in good standing throughout the review process (15 February-30 June); should their membership expire during the review process, their application will be removed from further consideration; high school, pre-university, or secondary-school students will receive a one-year complimentary student membership; must be enrolled in a program related to the field of optics and photonics; must be in school for the full academic year of the specified scholarship year; who have received a terminal degree (MD, JD, PhD) are not eligible. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee criteria; heir own merit, experience and education level of the individual student; preference given to those who have not received any previous awards from SPIE. How to apply: Applicants must be submit a completed scholarship application form and following details: two (2) recommendations; family members, relatives, and students are not eligible to submit a recommendation.
