To help offset the financial burden for a student’s entire undergraduate career. Qualifications: Applicants must have resided in San Diego county for at least one year; be graduating high school seniors, current undergraduates, or graduate students; plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university or music academy in the united states in fall; be serious and talented musicians planning to pursue a career in music and/or play professionally (string instruments preferred); have a minimum unweighted 3.0 gpa on a 4.0 scale; be united states citizens or permanent residents; graduating high school seniors; must be current college students (undergraduate or graduate); adult re-entry students; students with financial needs (includes middle-income families); students attending four-year universities, community colleges or career/technical schools; commitment to their education; potential for success in college; minimum gpa of 2.0; participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience; current residence in San Diego county (for at least one year). Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committees will consider the information in application, including activities, academics, financial need and personal statements. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; should include FAFSA or CA Dream Act and Student Aid Report (SAR); letter of recommendation (on official letterhead) from applicant’s music teacher indicating his/her level of talent and seriousness about pursuing music as a career; a URL link to a YouTube of applicant’s music. Focus: Music.
