To support the education of students from California. Qualifications: Applicant must have resided in San Diego County for at least one year; must be between the ages of 17 and 25; must be or have been in foster care; must be plan to enroll or are already enrolled full-time at an accredited community college, four-year university, or career/technical school in the United States in fall; must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale or a college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; must be United States citizens or permanent residents. Selection criteria: Special consideration will be given to African-American students. How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed Common Scholarship Application together with personal statement; two letters of recommendation on official letterhead (written within the last six months); official transcript in an official and sealed envelope; and a letter of recommendation from the applicant's social worker indicating the applicant is or has been in foster care.
