To support local students pursuing degrees in geology, geophysics, or mining or petroleum engineering. Qualifications: Applicants must be post-secondary, not recent HS graduate; student in Doddridge or Ritchie county high school; must college plans: 4-year institution; preference given to graduates of Doddridge county high school; be high school seniors and current college students; must be residents in the foundation's service area: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and wood counties in west Virginia and Washington county, Ohio. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; consider the following: academics, activities/leadership, service, financial need; special circumstances; based on field of study in petroleum engineering, mining engineering, geology, geophysics.
