To support local students pursuing postsecondary education. Qualifications: Applicants must be HS senior; must be resident in Lewis, Gilmer, Braxton, Upshur, Harrison, Randolph, or Ritchie Counties in WV; have financial need; have plan attend full time college; preference: Gilmer or Lewis County residents, dependents of employees associated with Wes-Jak, Inc; not intended for student receiving other significant scholarship support, if in any given year there are fewer than four eligible applicants with a company relationship, no preference may be given on the basis of company affiliation; must be graduating high school students; be high school seniors and current college students; must be residents in the Foundation's service area: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood Counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio; students must have a GPA ranging from 2.5 to 3.2 on a scale of 4.0, or the equivalent. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; consider the following: academics, activities/leadership, service, financial need; special circumstances.
