To support Ashe County High School graduating seniors who are planning to attend college on a full-time basis. Qualifications: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Ashe County high school who have been admitted as full time students to any accredited college or university; eligible applicants shall have maintained an overall 3.0 grade Point average from grades 10 through 12, shall have demonstrated good character, and shall provide evidence of family financial need; preference shall be given, but not limited to, graduates who have not received other scholarships or grants; shall be renewable for three academic years (provided funds are available) when an overall college or university GPA of 2.5 is maintained. Selection criteria: Evaluations shall include an essay to assess applicants communication skills. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include email address of their school counselor: high school transcripts, college students should provide an unofficial transcript instead; email addresses of applicants references: two letters of recommendation; have the email addresses of those who will be providing letters of recommendation.
