Native Forward Scholars Fund

To provide financial assistance to eligible students from one of the nineteen Pueblo Nations of New Mexico who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of engineering. Qualifications: Applicants must be students are required to maintain full-time enrollment at a U.S. accredited institution; must have cumulative GPAs below 3.0; individuals who can verify descendants of American Indian or Alaska native lineage from tribes are also eligible; American Indians and Alaska natives who are enrolled in U.S. federally recognized tribes or state-recognized tribes; students who attend U.S. accredited institutions as defined by the U.S. department of education or the council for higher education; must be able to demonstrate tribal affiliation through a tribal eligibility certificate (TEC). Selection criteria: Selection will be based on merit. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include: completed native forward scholars fund personal profile; tribal eligibility certificate (tec) completed by the tribal enrollment office; financial needs form (fnf) completed by the institution’s financial aid office; applicant’s most recent academic transcript, essay(s) (specific to each scholarship), one academic reference, and one community/leadership reference. Focus: Engineering.
