To provide educational assistance for deserving students and dependents of the texas military forces who want to pursue their education. Qualifications: Applicants must be a members of the national guard association of Texas and/or their spouses, sons, or daughters; to be eligible for a national guard association of Texas (NGAT) scholarship, the applicant must be a current annual or life member of NGAT or the spouse or dependent son or daughter of a current annual or life NGAT member. Selection criteria: Selected will be based on committee criteria. How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; recent educational transcripts. (high school, college, etc.); high school applicants (Seniors) must include SAT or ACT scores; college freshmen should include their high school transcripts with their application; undergraduate or Graduate students must include all college transcripts with their application; must include a minimum of 3 Letters of recommendation from commanders, teachers, ministers, etc.; applicants must submit an essay with specific facts as to applicants desires to continue applicants education; this essay should include sufficient information to provide the Scholarship Selection Committee a “word picture” of applicants and reveal the hopes, ambitions and determination applicants possess to further applicants education and why; make photocopies of all the above and keep it for applicants files.
