To assist U.S. federal government employees interested in obtaining training in technical communication to improve their employment opportunities. Qualifications: Applicants must be female; working full- or part-time for the federal government as a secretary or administrative assistant; and interested in enrolling in a training or academic class related to technical communication. Selection criteria: Selection is based on applicants' expressed interest in technical communication, experience with technical communication and potential for contributing to the profession of technical communication. Consideration will also be given to financial need. How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with an essay on interests and achievements, and letters of recommendation from two co-workers (such as a supervisor and a peer). Focus: Technical communications.
