To promote academic excellence by encouraging young scientists to undertake graduate research in fishery biology and to enter the field of Great Lakes science. Qualifications: Applicants must be a master's or Ph.D. student whose proposed research topic is relevant to Great Lakes fishery research not have received the award previously not be a current member of the IAGLR Board of Directors or part of a current board member's immediate family (parents, children, spouse, siblings).
