To purpose of this fund is to increase the number of public school teachers by providing scholarships to undergraduate students. Qualifications: Applicants must be a resident of the State of Hawaii; demonstrate financial need; be in satisfactory academic standing or progress (equivalent to a cumulative GPA of 2.0); intend to teach in the public school system or equivalent in the state of Hawaii; pursue an associate or bachelor's degree. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee criteria; preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing; Preferences (in order of priority): attend Leeward Community College or University of Hawaii - West Oahu; pursue a degree in early childhood education; graduated from a public high school or equivalent in the State of Hawaii. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required or recommended for specific scholarships; current cumulative grade point average (gpa); transcripts should be as recent as possible and should not be a duplicate from a prior year hcf application; letters of recommendation (lor) are not typically required to submit Applicants application.
