To support first-generation Waipahu High School graduates who plan to attend a four-year college or university on the mainland USA. Qualifications: Applicants must be residents of the state of Hawaii; Applicants must demonstrate financial need; Applicants must be in good academic standing or maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0; Applicants must be graduates of Waipahu High School; Applicants must pursue a bachelor's degree; Applicants must attend a four-year institution; Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students; Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7; Neither parent of the applicant must have graduated from college in the United States. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee members; Selection will be based on financial need, academic standing, and fulfillment of donor criteria. Preference will be given to recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if they continue to meet eligibility requirements and are in good academic standing; preference will also be given to renewal candidates who maintain a college GPA of 2.7.
