To help students who have been in foster care in Hawaii pursue college degrees. Qualifications: Applicants must be residents of the State of Hawaii; must demonstrate financial need; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; must attend a two or four year college or university; must be permanently or temporarily separated from birth parent(s) due to being placed under the State of Hawaii foster care system, including those who aged out of the system. Selection criteria: Selection will be given preference to applicants who are residents of the island of Kauai; will be given preference to applicants who major in healthcare, education or social work; will be given preference to applicants who intend to have a career in Hawaii; will be given preference to applicants who were awarded in the immediate prior year and continue to meet eligibility requirements and are in good academic standing. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; Letter recommendation; continuing College; current cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA); transcripts should be as recent as possible and should not be a duplicate from a prior year HCF application; supporting documents.
