To provide scholarships students seeking a higher education. Qualifications: Applicants must be Hawaii resident; demonstrate financial need; attend an accredited, two or four year, not-for-profit institution within the US (including US territories); be a full-time or part-time students (as determined by Applicants school's financial aid office); minimum 2.7 GPA; be an active status employee, a dependent child of an active status employee or a grandchild of an active status employee of Central Pacific Bank and/or it's subsidiary or affiliated company with a minimum of one year of service as of the application date and at the time of the award notification; (Dependent child refers to biological, step, foster, legal ward or adopted child under the age of 26.) The employee must continue to be an active status employee at the time of the award letter. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria; preference for previous year's recipients, who may be eligible for up to 4 years of awarding pursuant to submitting an application annually, and who continue to be an active status employee-dependent for new awardees, preference for: high school seniors, undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in that order or priority. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; an unofficial grade transcript is needed for all applicants; a valid transcript for HCF scholarship qualification purposes must include all the following: the institution’s name; the student’s full name; a list of course history; current grades/information for each course: continuing college students - must also include past semester grades/information; high school seniors - must include ninth through 11th grade at a minimum; current cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA); transcripts should be as recent as possible and should not be a duplicate from a prior year HCF application; grade transcripts that will be deemed invalid are as follows: a transcript without applicants most recent academic history; a transcript on which the name listed does not match the name on applicants HCF application; a transcript that cannot be clearly read; a transcript that does not include all pages and/or all course work; a transcript in a file format that cannot be opened upon review by HCF and/or its committee members.
