To support Hawaii island residents pursuing associates or bachelors degrees. Qualifications: Applicant must be a resident of Hawaii and a graduate of a Hawaii Island high school or a Hawaii Island resident who obtained a homeschool high school diploma; must be seeking an Associate or Bachelors degree; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Selection criteria: Preference will be given in the following order: recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing; students majoring in fire science or Mobile Intensive Care Technician (MICT).
