To encourage those students pursuing careers in education who also want to make a difference in people's lives as Ron Bright has done. Qualifications: Applicants must be a resident of the State of Hawai'i; must demonstrate financial need must be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; must be a full-time student; intend to major in education; must be a graduating high school senior from Kailua, Castle, Kahuku, or Kalaheo High School; must attend a school in the United States. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on students who have extra-curricular activities in the performing arts; community service. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include FAFSA submission summary; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required; additional documents: letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores for high school seniors, verification of organization affiliations, native Hawaiian ancestry verification. Focus: Education.
