To provide for college juniors, seniors, and graduate students at accredited four year colleges or universities, pursuing a degree in science. Qualifications: Applicants must bee a resident of the State of Hawaii; must be a full time student; must be a college junior, senior or graduate student; must attend an accredited four year college or university (excluding online universities and colleges); must intend to pursue a degree in science; be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative gpa of 3.0; demonstrate financial need; must attend a school in the United States. Selection criteria: Preferences will be given to: 1st preference: Students who have participated in the Hawai’i Youth Symphony as a performer and/or volunteer; 2nd preference: students engaged in any academic cancer research; 3rd preference: awards may be given to previous recipients. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include FAFSA submission summary; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required; additional documents: letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores for high school seniors, verification of organization affiliations, native Hawaiian ancestry verification.
