To support UMC members pursuing undergraduate degrees. Qualifications: Applicants must be a undergraduates (incoming freshmen NOT eligible) who have been a member of the UMC for at least three years; should be active leaders in a United Methodist-related campus ministry and have a minimum 3.0 GPA; must be pursuing a degree program at an accredited institution within the U.S.; High school students may apply if they will be college students in the fall term; applicants are required to be full-time students according to their school's standards for the program for which they are enrolled; student may receive GBHEM scholarships for up to seven award years maximum; applicants will not be considered for an eighth academic year for a GBHEM scholarship. Selection criteria: Independent selection committee will evaluate the applications and will select the recipients based upon restricted criteria as set by the initial endowment or program being reviewed.
