To provide for who are entered in a course of study in a public post-secondary institution in either; Human Services, Business, Sports or Agriculture. Qualifications: Applicants must be a resident of Prince Edward Island; successfully completed: one-year post-secondary; OR have graduated high school and have been in the work force for at least one-year post graduation; OR entering a post-secondary institution that offers accommodations for learners with disabilities; pursuing full time studies in Human Services, Business, Sports or Agriculture; completed 200 hours in one, or a combination of, volunteer work, sports and charitable organizations; not a prior recipient of this scholarship; participation as an athlete/volunteer in a national sports event would be considered an asset; must provide confirmation of acceptance to a full-time program from a public post-secondary educational institution; must demonstrate an interest in making a difference in their community by being actively involved in one, or a combination of, volunteer work, sports and charitable organizations. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on Committee criteria. How to apply: Applicants must submit an online application form; include a personal statement of no more than 500 words; provide a list of current and previous employment; submit verification of 200 hours of involvement and contributions to the community through volunteer work in sports and/or charitable organizations; provide two letters of reference—one from the educational institution the applicant is currently attending and one from a person in their community; include confirmation of acceptance to a full-time program at a public post-secondary educational institution. Focus: Agricultural sciences; Business; Public service; Sports studies.
