To support students who are involved in the local music scene. Qualifications: Applicant must be 19 years old or younger as of the application deadline; be a college-bound student currently residing in Boone, Ogle, or Winnebago County in Illinois; demonstrate an ongoing commitment to further their musical education throughout college; be actively involved in school or community musical groups; past recipients are not eligible to apply. Selection criteria: Applications are read and scored by committees of volunteers who use a blind review process and make recommendations to CFNIL's board of trustees; based on various factors: community engagement; academic achievement; financial need; athletic participation; field of study; academic performance will be given moderate consideration in the selection process.
