To support students who have benefited from the resources at the Northwest Community Center. Qualifications: Applicants must be non-traditional, minority, and first-generation college students; applicants must be graduates of or current seniors at a high school in Rockford, Illinois; must demonstrate a history of involvement with Northwest Community Center as a volunteer or participant; must demonstrate financial need. Selection criteria: Applications are read and scored by committees of volunteers who use a "blind" review process and make recommendations to CFNIL's board of trustees; based on various factors: community engagement; academic achievement; financial need; athletic participation; field of study; academic performance will be given moderate consideration in the selection process. How to apply: Applicant must submit an online application form along with a reference from an employee or volunteer at the Northwest Community Center.
