To supporting college students with a strong commitment to service for others. Qualifications: Applicants must be non-traditional, minority, and first-generation college students; be female; be an undergraduate college or vocational student of at least freshman status; currently reside in Winnebago County; demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for people in their school, community, or county through community service; have completed at least 50 hours of community service while in college. Selection criteria: Applications are read and scored by committees of volunteers who use a "blind" review process and make recommendations to CFNIL's board of trustees; based on various factors: community engagement; academic achievement; financial need; athletic participation; field of study; academic performance will be given moderate consideration in the selection process.
