To supporting future female teachers who are engaged in their community. Qualifications: Applicants must be non-traditional, minority, and first-generation college students; be female; be a graduating high school senior at a public high school in Boone or Winnebago County; intend to pursue a degree in secondary teaching; have participated in a number of high school activities. Selection criteria: Applications are read and scored by committees of volunteers who use a "blind" review process and make recommendations to CFNIL's board of trustees; based on various factors: community engagement; academic achievement; financial need; athletic participation; field of study; academic performance will be given moderate consideration in the selection process.
