To support students whose parents have not participated in post-secondary education studies are granted to individuals who are the first in his/her family to attend university. Qualifications: Applicants must be a black Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at a Canadian college or university; must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and community involvement; must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution; must be between 17 and 30 years old at the start of the academic year( current year); be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person (or have applied for permanent residency or a student/work visa); students must be residents of Ontario. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on process for the BBPA national scholarship program is rigorous and competitive, applicants are evaluated based on their academic achievements, financial need, community involvement, personal statement, and letters of recommendation, a panel of judges reviews each application and selects the recipients based on the eligibility criteria and the strength of their application.
